Macao - Robert Mitchum (1952) - Tak Shing Ferry to Macau
I’ve decided to approach this version of my blog in chronological order of films, so first up is Robert Mitchum’s Macao, released in 1952. Although there was no actor-on-location filming for thismovie, the production company did dispatch a cinematographer,Dick Davol, to capture authentic footage that could be used for various establishing shots as well as studio-based sound stage back projection.
Davol captured some nice footage of the famous Tak Shing ferry - supposedly carrying the film’s main characters - as it makes its way into Macau’s inner harbour area.
